Our Commitment
Pocklington RUFC is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and positive environment for all children, young people, and vulnerable adults who participate in rugby at our club. We accept our responsibility to safeguard the welfare of every individual and are committed to following the RFU Safeguarding Policy and related procedures.
Key Principles
Every child or young person who plays or participates in rugby should be able to do so in a safe and enjoyable environment.
All suspicions and allegations of abuse or poor practice will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately.
All club members, coaches, volunteers and officials have a responsibility to safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
All coaches, volunteers and officials working with children must hold a current DBS disclosure and complete RFU safeguarding training.
Club Safeguarding Officer
Our designated Club Safeguarding Officer (CSO) is the first point of contact for any safeguarding concern. They are trained to handle concerns sensitively and in accordance with RFU procedures.
